As a way of spelling out its services to citizens, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) has launched its service charter.


The Honourable minister Mansur Mohammed Dan-Ali, represented by the Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Ambassador Danjuma Sheni said the Service Charter is to let citizens who take service from the ministry know the kind of services they should expect.

“In other words, it is our communication strategy to let our customers know what services we deliver here”, he said.

The occasion of Charter launch was used to honour best staff of the year for their diligence and hardwork, with a view to promoting healthy competition among staff.

National Coordinator SERVICOM, Mrs. Nnenna Akajemeli represented by Head of Operations, Mallam Danjuma Usman said the Service Charter launch indicated high- level commitment to effective service delivery in the Ministry.

Earlier, the Nodal Officer, Mrs Helen Orji expressed gratitude for Management support and said the best staff award which has been an annual event for 3 years now covers the three cadres in the ministry.

Mr. Nwaegbe A. is best staff from the Directorate cadre, Mr. Essa Emmanuel is best from middle cadre, while Mrs. Onoja Mabel outperformed her colleagues at the junior cadre.

Service Charter is a document which represents and expresses the commitment of MDAs toward their customers in respect of service, service standards, information, choice and consultation, non-discrimination and accessibility, grievance redress, courtesy and value for money. It also includes expectation of the organization from the customer towards fulfilling the commitment of the organization.
